Selling a house is all about emotion. This is especially true when it comes to Amsterdam canal houses, where character, light and history come together. Potential buyers often decide within minutes whether a property appeals to them. This is precisely where styling makes the difference, and art is playing an increasingly important role in this.

From styling assignment to artistic collaboration
For the sale of a unique flat on Lauriergracht in Amsterdam, Jet Schipper of Superworks was commissioned to prepare the interior for sale. Her goal was clear: to create an atmosphere that emphasises the property's strengths while leaving room for the buyer's imagination. An interior that is inviting without being overpowering.

During this process, Jet Schipper approached Umo Art & Design with a specific request: could we supply works of art to be displayed temporarily in the flat during the sales period? Not decoration to fill the walls, but art that enhances the spaces and completes the overall picture.

Art as an extension of the interior
For a period of three months, our artworks became part of the canal-side property. Each work was carefully chosen in relation to the space, the light and the style of the interior. The art added depth and personality without detracting from the property itself. Exactly what is needed when presenting a property: creating atmosphere, but letting the house take centre stage.

In combination with Jet Schipper's styling, a stylish whole was created in which potential buyers saw not only a home, but a possible future. Art helped to add emotion and make the spaces more readable.

Renting art from Umo Art & Design
Art can also be used temporarily to great effect. There is an increasing need for flexible, temporary solutions, for example in sales styling, interior design projects, offices or events.

That is why it is possible to rent artworks from Umo Art & Design in consultation. We help you choose the right selection, duration and look, so that the art fits the space and the purpose. Temporary, but with a lasting impression.

Art that does more thanjustlook beautiful
This project on Lauriergracht shows how art can contribute to the presentation of a home in a practical and thoughtful way. When styling and art reinforce each other, a story emerges, and that is exactly what a house needs to sell.

Curious about what art can do for your project? We would be happy to tell you more!
