The Vliegerhuys in Zwolle is a place where history and architecture come together. Art played an important role in enhancing the atmosphere and identity of this special project. For this project, we were approached by photographer Ingrid Koedood with the request to support her in using her work in the Vliegerhuys. Part of her collection was already housed with us, which allowed us to work together to find a suitable use for this special location. The choice fell on her world portraits: images that add tranquillity, depth and a cosmopolitan feel to the space and naturally complement the character of the building.

Art that connects space and story
At the Vliegerhuys, Ingrid Koedood's portraits create a subtle balance between old and new. The monumental elements of the building form a tranquil, historical backdrop, while the cosmopolitan photography adds a layered and human story.

The people portrayed from various cultures, captured in their own environment, bring warmth, character and authenticity to the space. With an eye for detail, tradition and appearance, the works complement the interior without dominating the architecture. They add an international, contemporary layer to the historical environment and create a sense of tranquillity and connection.

In this way, the art deepens the space and becomes a natural part of the overall experience of the building, in which visitors feel welcome and inspired.

Ingrid Koedood: international portraits with attention
Ingrid Koedood has been travelling the world for years in search of authentic encounters. From the spiritual highlands of Tibet to festivals in Niger and Chad, and from the saffron harvest in Iran to ritual traditions in Japan and Benin. Everywhere she goes, she works with respect, connection and sincere attention for the people she photographs.

Her work is internationally recognised and has been exhibited in Paris, London, Milan, New York and Buenos Aires, among other places. At the same time, her portraits remain accessible and human. They tell stories that invite viewing and reflection, qualities that we find very suitable for use in interior design projects.

Available at Umo Art & Design
Ingrid Koedood's photography is available in various formats through Umo Art & Design. Each work is professionally finished and carefully selected to suit the space in which it will be placed. Whether it is for a private setting or a larger project, we are happy to advise on art that adds character and meaning.

Art that completes an interior
The Vliegerhuys project shows how art can deepen and connect a space. Ingrid Koedood's world portraits bring together tranquillity, humanity and an international perspective: precisely those elements that make an environment unique.

Curious about what her work can do for your interior or project? We are happy to think along with you and advise on art that goes beyond decoration.
